The Lectionary is a collection of scriptures used by the church for liturgical proclamations. Where the Book of the Gospels is just a collection of the Gospels. it is enthroned in a place of honor, so that the Good News is accessible to all who enter and is a testament to our faith as Disciples of Christ.
The sacramentary (Roman Missal) is the presider's book. It contains the mass prayers and rubrics.
The Book of intentions is located in the vestibule of the church where parishioners record their special prayers. This book is brought up to the altar with the bread and wine during mass.
