SACRAMENTS

 Baptism is the first sacrament celebrated in the process of becoming a full member of the Catholic Church. Parents wishing to have their child baptized in the Catholic Church are expected to make arrangements through their local Catholic parish. Parishioners registered at the Cathedral or residing within Cathedral parish boundaries are kindly requested to inform the Liturgy office accordingly.

Parish Permission Form (required for non-parishioners) Parents wishing to baptize their child at the Cathedral will need to obtain written permission from their local parish. Call the office 907-248-2000 Ext. 2 to obtain the form.

To have your child baptized at the Cathedral, parents of the child must visit the Cathedral Office during business hours Mon-Fri 8am to 2pm to pick up the Baptismal Packet. 

El bautismo es el primer sacramento que se celebra en el proceso de convertirse en miembro de pleno derecho de la Iglesia Católica. Los padres que deseen bautizar a sus hijos en la Iglesia Católica deben coordinarlo a través de su parroquia local. Se ruega a los feligreses registrados en la Catedral o que residan dentro de los límites de la parroquia que informen a la oficina de Liturgia.

Formulario de Permiso Parroquial (obligatorio para quienes no sean feligreses). Los padres que deseen bautizar a sus hijos en la Catedral deberán obtener un permiso por escrito de su parroquia. Llame a la oficina al 907-248-2000 Ext. 2 para obtener el formulario.

Para bautizar a su hijo en la Catedral, los padres deben visitar la Oficina de la Catedral en horario de atención de lunes a viernes de 8:00 a. m. a 2:00 p. m. para recoger el Paquete Bautismal.

First Holy Communion is a religious ceremony when a child reaches the age of around 7-8 years and celebrates the first time that they accept the body and blood of Jesus (also known as the Eucharist). This is a 2-year preparation program. You can enroll children as early as Kindergarten.

La Primera Comunión es una ceremonia religiosa que se celebra cuando un niño alcanza los 7 u 8 años y celebra la primera vez que acepta el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Jesús (también conocido como la Eucaristía). Este programa preparatorio dura dos años. Se puede inscribir a los niños desde preescolar.

The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation is one of the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church, in which the faithful obtain absolution for the sins committed against God and neighbor and are reconciled with the community of the Church. Reconciliation it will be incorporated into whatever level of formation that your child is enrolled in. Usually, it is celebrated along with first communion.

El Sacramento de la Penitencia y la Reconciliación es uno de los siete sacramentos de la Iglesia Católica, en el cual los fieles obtienen la absolución de los pecados cometidos contra Dios y el prójimo y se reconcilian con la comunidad eclesial. La reconciliación se incorporará al nivel de formación de su hijo/a. Generalmente, se celebra junto con la primera comunión.

The sacrament of confirmation completes the sacrament of baptism. If baptism is the sacrament of re-birth to a new and supernatural life, confirmation is the sacrament of maturity and coming of age. Confirmation is a 1-year program. You can enroll children who are 11 years old or who are in the 5th grade and above.

El sacramento de la confirmación complementa el sacramento del bautismo. Si el bautismo es el sacramento del renacimiento a una vida nueva y sobrenatural, la confirmación es el sacramento de la madurez y la madurez. La confirmación es un programa de un año. Please contact the parish office at least six months before your desired wedding date to arrange a meeting with Wedding Coordinator. [email protected]. You will complete initial paperwork and receive a marriage preparation checklist. Appointments to meet with a priest and deacon are then scheduled.
